What is the BMW Performance Center Delivery Program?
A unique opportunity for the owner and one guest to fully experience BMW culture. Included in the program are a session of professional driving instruction in a BMW similar to the one ordered, a personalized vehicle delivery presentation by a BMW Product Specialist and a tour of the BMW Zentrum museum or Manufacturing Plant when available.
What is the cost of the Delivery Program?
Taking delivery at the BMW Performance Center is a no-cost option for both the customer and the BMW Retail Center. However, customers are responsible for the cost of their personal travel to and from South Carolina.

Which models can be delivered to the BMW Performance Center?
All new models can be delivered to the BMW Performance Center based on availability, production, shipping and scheduling. Delivery reservations are limited and not guaranteed. Factors like production, shipping and scheduling help determine if the delivery reservation can be confirmed. It is not available for new BMWs already on dealer lots or for CPO BMWs.
Who qualifies for delivery at the BMW Performance Center?
The program is available to the vehicle owner and one guest. Customers who are U.S. residents (18 years of age or older with a valid U.S. driver’s license) registering the vehicle at a valid U.S. address can take delivery. Participants will be required to sign a waiver to participate as a driver or passenger in any BMW Performance Center vehicle. Additional participants cannot be added.
Customers younger than 18 years of age must possess a valid driver’s license/permit and must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Participants must be at least 12 years of age to ride in a vehicle and attend the factory tour (proof of age, such as a birth certificate or valid state-issued ID, must be presented at our facility).
Does the “Destination and Handling Fee” still apply?
Yes. This fee applies to all BMW models regardless of whether the vehicle is delivered at the selling BMW Retail Center or at the BMW Performance Center.
Are customer vehicles completely detailed prior to delivery?
Yes. We hand-wash and wax each vehicle with approved BMW products.
Is the vehicle transported to a customer's home after delivery?
No. Shipment of the vehicle is not included when participating in the Delivery Experience. The program is designed for customers to drive their vehicle home after delivery.
When should a customer plan to arrive for delivery?
Plan to be at the Performance Center no later than 8 am the day of your delivery.
Which airports and airlines are available?
Customers flying into South Carolina should utilize the Greenville/Spartanburg International Airport (GSP). Visit gspairport.com for more details.
Which airport should be utilized for private flights?
Customers choosing to fly a private plane into Greenville will be directed to land at Cerulean Aviation (864) 655-5221, located adjacent to the Greenville-Spartanburg Airport.
On which days is the Delivery Program offered?
The BMW Performance Center Delivery Program is available to customers Monday through Friday. There may be some blackout dates throughout the year due to holidays, BMW Driving School programs and other events that utilize the facility. The BMW Performance Center may close on multiple dates to observe New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
What if a customer is looking to take delivery on a specific date?
Specific delivery dates cannot be guaranteed. Delivery dates will be determined based on the vehicle’s production date and our availability. Customers can work with their BMW Retail Center to request specific dates when submitting a Performance Center delivery reservation.
What time does the Delivery Program start and end?
Customers and guests who are driving to the BMW Performance Center should plan to arrive at the facility on their delivery date no later than 8 am.
Customers and their guests can expect to rotate as pairs through three different two-hour modules of driving instruction, factory tour and vehicle delivery presentation. Typically, the BMW Performance Center Delivery Program concludes no later than 3pm.
What types of driving exercises will customers experience?
After a brief classroom session with a BMW Driving Instructor, customers will get behind the wheel of a BMW Performance Center vehicle that is similar to the vehicle purchased. Customers will participate in handling, braking and traction-control driving exercises.
All customers will also have the opportunity to explore a BMW X vehicle’s capabilities on the BMW Performance Center’s Off-Rad Course.
Whose vehicles are used during driving exercises?
The Performance Center provides all vehicles used for any driving exercise. Customers are not permitted to drive their own vehicles on the track.
DELIVERY DAY ITINERARY
Please arrive at 7:45 am for check-in. Unfortunately, you will miss out on your driving activities if you arrive late. Subject to availability.
The day is split into many segments:
Driving Experience
During this segment, you’ll spend time behind the wheel of a BMW that is similar to the one you purchased. We’ll showcase the advantages and technologies of your BMW on our track. You’ll experience the handling capabilities and discover why it’s called the Ultimate Driving Machine®. You will also learn why BMWs are known for having the best braking systems as we push the ABS brakes to their limit. We’ll then showcase the advantages of DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) on our skid pad.
xDrive Course
Have you ever wondered what it feels like to be on two wheels? You’ll get the chance to experience the water crossing, spiral mountain, hill descent control and more in a BMW SAV.
BMW Factory Tour
Tour BMW Manufacturing (when public tours are available), where BMW X vehicles are assembled. Please note that tours are sometimes closed due to new model releases.
Vehicle Delivery
It wouldn’t be the Ultimate Delivery Experience if we didn’t explore your new BMW together. During this segment, a BMW Product Specialist will demonstrate and explain many features of your new BMW, making sure you feel confident with the controls when you leave.
Lunch will be served from 12 pm – 12:45 pm at the Performance Center M Café. You can expect to be on the road in your new BMW no later than 3 pm.
Shipping Your BMW Home
If you choose not to drive your new BMW home, you will need to make arrangements with a shipping carrier to pick up your vehicle the same day you have it delivered. You must be available to hand the keys directly to your carrier.
Zentrum Museum
At the conclusion of your delivery day, you are welcome to visit the Zentrum museum, located at the BMW factory. It houses a beautiful collection of past BMWs. You’ll have time to walk around and see some of your favorite classics, as well as visit their gift shop.
MAKE YOUR VIP LIST
- Your delivery day will start at 8 am and conclude around 3 pm.
- Your BMW Experience is designed for you and one guest 12 years of age and older. Additional guests cannot be accommodated. Unfortunately, there are no exceptions.
- All driving participants must present a valid driver’s license (participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a legal guardian).

- Valid driver’s license
- Your license plate or temporary tag if provided
- South Carolina requires all vehicles to be registered and insured. Therefore, we highly recommend bringing a copy of your bill of sale and proof of insurance to keep in your vehicle.
- Camera (there’s a lot you’ll want to capture!)

DRESS CODE
Dress code is casual and comfortable. Completely enclosed shoes are required. We suggest tennis shoes.
- No raised heels.
- No open toes, heels, sides, backs or spaces.
- The shoe material must protect the entire foot.

TAX INFORMATION
The following information applies only if you reside in:
Arkansas, District of Columbia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Virginia or West Virginia.
The state of South Carolina imposes a use tax of $500 upon the first use of a new vehicle in South Carolina, purchased from any of the places listed above. Since you will be taking delivery of your new vehicle in South Carolina, this tax may apply.
This first-time use tax will not be collected by your retail center or the BMW Performance Center. Should the state of South Carolina decide to collect this tax from out-of-state consumers, it would be billed by the state of South Carolina and payable directly to the same.
The BMW Performance Center is not aware of any instance where the state of South Carolina has sought this first-time use tax against any of our delivery customers. In the event taxes are assessed and were paid in your home state or district(s), recovery may be available in full or part. Note that such recovery may not be available from states or district(s) adjoining South Carolina.
